Established in 1910 as a standing ode to the violin maestro Thirumala Chowdiah, this grand auditorium is shaped like a seven-stringed violin. Credited with the tinkering of the 4 stringed violins to introduce the first seven-stringed violin, the legacy of Thirmula Chowdiah is remembered and revered by this magnificent auditorium. With excellent acoustics and a splendid architecture, the music in this hall is truly alive. The auditorium hosts numerous events including Carnatic and Hindustani performances, theatrical programs, ramp walks, dance events, music festivals, convocations, school or organizational programmes.
