He has Sangeet Visharad' from the prestigious institution Prachin Kala Kendra. He is A graded artist in AIR. In 1994, he was awarded the national scholarship in Hindustani classical music on Tabla from Department of cultural, Ministry of Human Resource Development, Govt of India. He played the tabla in various programmes produced and telecasted by Doordarshan Kendra, Silchar Assam (1993 to 1996). He is working as a tabla teacher in a reputed Institution in Delhi. He is also taking private tabla classes from home.
