KALPANA KISHORE also known as Kalpana Venkat, is a multifaceted musician, a Violinist and a vocalist. She has performed with all leading musicians and toured several countries.She is known for the Gayaki style of playing with emphasis on Sahitya. She has performed many solos, duets with her Guru Sangeetha Kala Acharya Smt. T. Rukmini, Jugalbandhis with North Indian musicians and also experimented with fusion groups. She is also a trained vocalist and has given several vocal concerts.She has also played in a few cine recordings with the maestro film music composer Sri Ilayaraja.

She has released several audio CDs, a Video fusion CD and a DVD on the techniques of learning Carnatic music on the Violin. She currently trains in Vocal and Violin in Bangalore at Prestige Ozone. She was also the founder of a non profit organisation, Samagaana Heritage Foundation for promoting classical arts in Northern America during her stay there. She is an A grade artist of AIR, Chennai and given several programmes in many TV channels. She has pioneered an organisation KALA RASIKA with a popular Odissi dancer Smt. Shubha Nagarajan in Whitefiled , Bangalore.

KALPANA KISHORE a renowned carnatic violinist, vocalist and a Guru and SHUBHA NAGARAJAN - a very popular and well know Odissi dancer, have pioneered a music and dance appreciation organisation known as KALA RASIKA in WHITEFIELD, Bangalore. Their objective is to share their experiences and knowledge in their journey of learning and professionally pursuing the Indian classical music and dance forms thereby kindling interest in people especially the young minds as to how to become a RASIKA (one who appreciates and enjoys classical arts or a connoisseur) and enjoy the process of learning it!

A multi-faceted musician, Smt. Kalpana Kishore has received training in violin from Sangeetha Choodamani Smt. T Rukmani, and in vocal music from Smt. Prema Hariharan, Smt. Sethalapathy Balasubramaniam, Pallavi Venkatarama Iyer and Padma Bhushan Sri P S Narayanaswamy. She is an A-grade artiste of All India Radio, and has received numerous titles, including Samagana Priya Sudha, Yuva Kala Bharati and Sangeetha Sevamani from the Kanchi Kamakoti Peetam, as well as awards from Music Academy, Narada Gana Sabha and Krishna Gana Sabha. She has performed at numerous venues in India and abroad, and accompanied leading musicians like Smt. D K Pattammal, Dr. M Balamuralikrishna, Smt. Sudha Raghunathan, Smt.
