Sri. Karthik Mani hails from a family of musicians. His father, TAS Mani is a renowned percussionist. His mother R.A.Ramamani is a reputed Carnatic vocalist who has performed all over the world. She has pioneered the genre of Carnatic-jazz fusion. Karthik is a young and energetic percussionist and drummer. He has a solid foundation in South Indian Classical Music. who now follows in his father's footsteps. He shares a passion for drumming and has been playing since the age of five. He started learning both Vocal and Mridangam at a very early age. At the age of 13 he had got the third rank in the Karnataka State Junior Mridangam Examination. He has performed in various prestigious festivals throughout the world. He got appreciations from the musicians and the audience there. Karthik Mani is an enthusiastic percussionist and a drummer. He is the son of TAS Mani - a well known percussionist and mother M.A.Ramamani - a well acclaimed Carnatic vocalist. From the age of 5, his interest was to play drums, and also learnt Mridangam and Vocal alongside. He is a versatile artist, who can play many other percussion instruments. His interest in fusion music, led him to establish the genre of "Carnatic-Jazz". Karthik Mani has performed world wide with several Carnatic, Hindustani and western musicians. He is a part of well known Carnatic ensemble "Tala Tarangini". Alongside with Jazz musicians, he has performed in their albums, and been a great success. He has performed in many international music festivals, which were well received. Karthik has been a part of many fusion bands, apart from his own "Taalization" and "The Karthik Mani Group". He has performed with dance groups of Sasha Waltz, Wassem Khan and Rukmini Vijayakumar.
