Dr. L.Subramaniam is the legendary "India's Violin Icon" and a music producer, composer. conducting several recordings all over the world. He belongs to the guru-sishya parampara of Baluswamy Dikshitar. He trained in Violin at a young age with guidance from his father and guru Prof. V. Lakshminaryana. Being a child prodigy, he started performing in concerts with eminent musicians. Though an M.B.B.S graduate by profession, L Subramaniam chose to follow his passion for learning more music. After finishing his masters in "Western Classical Music ", he chose to be a full-time musician. He is the only artist to have made a mark on all kind of music genre. (Classical, western, jugalbandi, orchestra, jazz, occidental, world music) . He has also scored music for movies and a featured soloist in Bernardo Bertolucci’s works. Subramaniam has conducted several orchestral compositions throughout the world. His album "Global Fusion", featuring successful musicians from five continents, received awesome reviews. He is the recipient of many prestigious awards and titles from Government of India. He has received many honorary doctorate awards from Universities across India. L.Subramaniam along with his wife Kavita Krishnamoorthy is the founder of the "Subramaniam Academy of Performing Arts". The centre aims to teach all kinds of music to the students. It teaches music as a part of a curriculum in several schools, to impart its benefits to the next generation.
