Sri. Mysore Sanjeev Kumar is one of the versatile Carnatic Violist in the country. Very few artists play this instrument. He has mastered the instrument which is very rarely played in the World of Carnatic Music. He learned Vocal and Violin from Vidwan Sri.K J Venkatachar. He also learnt violin from Vidwan. Sri. H K Narasimha murthy, Mysore for some time. He had his Vidwath Training from Sangeetha Vidyasagara Vidwan late. Sri. RR.Keshav Murthy, Bangalore. Mysore Sanjeev Kumar is the 7th Generation Disciple of Saint Thyagaraja. He practised Viola along with Violin and now gives solo performances on Viola.
