Percussion expert Vid V S Ramesh is the son of multifaceted musician Vidu C S Nagarathnamma. Evincing keen interest in percussion very early, Ramesh, under the tutelage of famous percussionist Vid P G Lakshminarayana of Mysore, got expertise in Mridanga, Ghata and Morcing. In spite of his triple expertise in percussion instruments, Ramesh identifies himself mainly as a Morsing accompanist to musicians. Aptly so he is an artist grade A in Morcing and grade B in Mridanga as recognised by All India Radio and Doordarshan. He has participated in AIR national programmes, Sangeeta Sammelans and several other reputed music festivals as a percussionist which includes many concerts at several sabhas in Mysore, Bangalore and Chennai. He has accompanied many artists on Mridanga, Ghata and Morsing and also has given lecture cum demonstrations in universities in Dubai and USA. Many reputed organisations have recognized his expertise with honours. Recognised under Sangeetada Mooru Talemarugalu, Vidu Nagarathnamma, Vid Ramesh and Kum Eswari (Mother, son and grand daughter) were honoured together that deserves a special mention. Ramesh has trained many percussionist and is serving at the Ganabharathi school of music and dance since several years.
