About
Vidwan V Gopal is a notable Veena performer in Bangalore. Born into a family of musicians, he started his training in music from the age of 6. His gurus are his parents, Vidwan S Venkataramana , a well-known violinist and his mother Y V Ratna. He trained in Veena from Smt. Saraswathi Vishwanathan and pursued advanced nuances under Smt.Geetha Ramanand. He started his stage performances from the age of 12.
Gopal specialises in "Mysore Bani" renditions in Veena. Alongside his guru, he has performed at many leading sabhas and music festivals in India. Being an "A" grade artist in AIR, he has performed many concerts for AIR and Doordarshan Bangalore. He is the recipient of many awards and accolades like "Best Veena Player", to name a few. Gopal performs in ensembles for classical dance recitals, receiving positive reviews from audiences.
