About
Dr. Suma Sudhindra is a versatile and innovative Veena performer. She started her training on Veena at the age of 8. She continued her passion to learn Veena and became a disciple of Dr Chitti Babu. She has also learnt under Veena Maestro Raja Rao. Dr.Suma has performed in several prestigious sabhas of India and abroad. She has performed many Jugalbandhi's as well, with musicians Vishwa Mohan Bhatt and Shahid Parvez. Suma, with Tommy and Gerard Machado, has formed a band "Megha", active for almost 25 years. They have played several Carnatic, Jazz and Fusion music concerts in the band all over the world. Dr Suma has contributed to the field of music, through her innovation, "Tarangini Veena". She heads "Tarangini Arts Foundation", in Bengaluru to impart music and dance to all. The foundation conducts cultural events every year, presenting students to a wider audience. Dr Suma is never short of awards and titles, for the contributions she had made to classical music. Ganakalabhushana, Rajyotsava Award, Kalaimamani Award and Vainika Kalabhushani to name a few. Dr Suma is a Director For Indian Music Experience and co-founder of Artists’ Introspective Movement (AIM), creating a cultural platform for artists.
