Sri. Srinivasa Prasad started his initial training in Mridangam at the age of 10 under Sri M R Rajappa. It was this great guru, who laid a very strong foundation for young Srinivasa Prasad. During all the years of training under Sri. Rajappa. He taught the basics of mridangam very much in the likes of the Palghat Mani iyer school of Mrudangam. Infact, he started to perform on the stage on the Ghatam with his guru Sri Rajappa in all the concerts that he played. Sri. Srinivasa Prasad undertook advanced training in the instrument under Sri. Umayalpuram.K.Sivaraman. It was under Sri. Sivaraman that Srinivasa Prasad learnt the intricacies of Mridangam. He is a B grade artist at the AIR, Mysore and is awaiting results of upgradation. Sri. Srinivasa Prasad by himself a very good vocalist. He gives his performance at home and a few small family gatherings. Sri. Srinivasa Prasad is a Software Engineer by profession. He also has to his credit a senior Talavaadya exam in Mridangam from the State Music Board. He is a qualified Engineer. He has obtained his Post Graduate degree in Operations Management as well. He practices alternate medicine (Homeopathy), Meditation and is an excellent swimmer too.
