Smayaa Bhaskar has been learning Bharatanatyam and Carnatic vocal music from Smt. Sumitra Nitin since the tender age of 4. Smayaa's enthusiasm to learn and perform both these art forms has remained unchanged during the past ten years of her training. Smayaa has also attended dance workshops by eminent Gurus including Smt. Radha and Smt. Bragha Bessell. She has performed as part of the Natyasruti dance ensemble in sabhas and temples in Bengaluru, Chennai, Tiruchi, Kumbakonam and Ratnagiri.

In music, Smayaa has successfully completed the junior examination of the Karnataka government. She has also performed as part of the Natyasruti music ensemble at prestigious venues including at the Bangalore International Centre and the Tag Centre, Chennai.

Apart from dance and music, Smayaa has a keen interest in sports and other art forms. She is also interested in cooking. Now in her 10th grade, Smayaa believes that the discipline demanded by an art form like Bharatanatyam will be invaluable in shaping her.
