Shubha Nagarajan started learning Odissi in the Guru Kelucharan Mohapatra style in the USA in 2006 under the tutelage of Guru Smt. Niharika Mohanty. Dancing is a form of meditation for Shubha, which brings the mind, body, and spirit into a blissful state of singularity. She holds a graduate degree in Commerce and has completed her Sangeet Bhushan from the prestigious Pracheen Kala Kendra arts institution in Chandigarh. After staying in the USA for close to two decades, she returned to India in 2008 where she continued to pursue her training under Guru Smt. Sharmila Mukherjee, Director of Sanjali Centre for Odissi Dance. Reinforcing her learning experience in class with attending workshops of renowned Gurus and stalwarts in the Odissi style, Shubha has grown from strength to strength as both an ensemble dancer as well as a soloist, gaining a firm grip on the physical and expressive exploratory technique of the dance form. She had been a member of Sanjali Dance Ensemble.
