Rukmani Krishnan is an established Veena performer, in the field of Carnatic music. She learnt Veena from her mother at an early age and later became the disciple of Dr.Suma Sudhindra. To enhance her techniques and knowledge in Veena, she attended several workshops. There, he picked up the nuances taught by Dr.Doraiswamy Iyengar, Smt. R. Vedavalli, Shri Lalgudi G. Jayaraman to name a few. Rukmani's first professional performance was at Thyagaraja Aradhana Festival. She has performed at several music festivals and sabhas in India. Her solo and group performances in abroad were well received by audiences. Several of her concerts in international academies have earned her fame. Rukmani has a great passion towards teaching. Along with her guru Dr.Suma, she manages the "Tarangini Arts Foundation". She is a management graduate by profession and manages business and commerce schools. She is a part of social activity in ‘Abilities’, blind and deaf students learn music.
