Sri. Nanjundamurthy Venkatasubbu started his Mridangam training at the age of 8, from his father Shri Venkatasubbu and then received advanced training from ‘Ganakalabhushana’ Sri K N Krishnamurthy (disciple of the legendary Mridangam artist Sri Palghat T S Mani Iyer). His first concert was at the age of 12. He has performed in over 300 concerts, including several performances on radio and television. Nanjundamurthy is an A-grade Mridangam artist of All India Radio. He has accompanied some of the leading artists in concerts all over south India. He is a recipient of the prestigious CCRT (Centre for Cultural Resources and Training) scholarship. In the US, Nanjundamurthy has given many performances in the mid-west region, including accompaniment to several dance programmes and Arangetrams.
He is an alumnus of Aerospace Engineering from UOFI. He works at Caterpillar Inc., Champaign.
