K.J.Dileep has had the good fortune of having born in a musical family. His initial training was from his father Shri. K.J.Shyamasharma and grandfather Shri. K.J.Krishna Bhat, who is an accomplished vocalist and violinist. He further underwent advance training in violin under violin meastro Padmabhushan Sangeetha Kalanidhi M.S.Gopalakrishnan for a period of 6 years. Dileep gives duet performances with Mysore Sangeetha and accompanies various senior vidwans like Dr.T.V.Gopalakrishnan,Bombay Jayashri, T.V Sankaranarayanan, Neyveli Santanagopalan, Abhishek Raghuram, Sriram Parasuram and Anuradha Sriram, Priya sisters, Ranjani Gayathri, O.S. Tyagarajan and Sikkil Gurucharan. He performs across India and has also made a mark abroad, in countries like U.S.A, France (in Paris, for the event - 'The European Night of Museum' at Musee Guimet), Switzerland, Nigeria and Srilanka. Pudhupoonal program in Podhigai has telecasted a solo concert and an interview by him.
