A multi-faceted musician, Smt. Kalpana Kishore has received training in violin from Sangeetha Choodamani Smt. T Rukmani, and in vocal music from Smt. Prema Hariharan, Smt. Sethalapathy Balasubramaniam, Pallavi Venkatarama Iyer and Padma Bhushan Sri P S Narayanaswamy. She is an A-grade artiste of All India Radio, and has received numerous titles, including Samagana Priya Sudha, Yuva Kala Bharati and Sangeetha Sevamani from the Kanchi Kamakoti Peetam, as well as awards from Music Academy, Narada Gana Sabha and Krishna Gana Sabha. She has performed at numerous venues in India and abroad, and accompanied leading musicians like Smt. D K Pattammal, Dr. M Balamuralikrishna, Smt. Sudha Raghunathan, Smt. Bombay Jayashree and several others.
