KALPANA KISHORE also known as Kalpana Venkat, is a multifaceted musician, a Violinist and a vocalist. She has performed with all leading musicians and toured several countries.She is known for the Gayaki style of playing with emphasis on Sahitya. She has performed many solos, duets with her Guru Sangeetha Kala Acharya Smt. T. Rukmini, Jugalbandhis with North Indian musicians and also experimented with fusion groups. She is also a trained vocalist and has given several vocal concerts.She has also played in a few cine recordings with the maestro film music composer Sri Ilayaraja. She has released several audio CDs, a Video fusion CD and a DVD on the techniques of learning Carnatic music on the Violin. She currently trains in Vocal and Violin in Bangalore at Prestige Ozone. She was also the founder of a non profit organisation, Samagaana Heritage Foundation for promoting classical arts in Northern America during her stay there. She is an A grade artist of AIR, Chennai and given several programmes in many TV channels. She has pioneered an organisation KALA RASIKA with a popular Odissi dancer Smt.
