Dr.Jayanthi Kumaresh is a prominent "Saraswathi Veena" musician. She hails from the family of Legendary Lalgudi Jayraman, as sixth generation musician. Her mother introduced Jayanthi to the world of music at the young age of 3. Her tryst with Veena happened under the guidance of her maternal aunt Smt.Padmavathy Ananthagopalan. She has also been under the tutelage of Dr.S.Balachander for a brief period. She is one of the "A-Top" graded artists in AIR and the youngest one to receive it. Dr.Jayanthi's performances were well received and applauded at several prestigious venues. Her recitals in international music festivals were admirable. She is the recipient of many prestigious awards and titles. As a collaborator, she has performed several fusion concerts with Zakir Hussain and Violinist Kumaresh. Her album "Mysterious Duality", brings seven layers of Veena in a single instrument. As a music composer, she has composed several kritis, varnams and thillanas. She is also a founder of "Indian National Orchestra", a first of its kind to include 21 star musicians in the group. Jayanthi Kumaresh has transitioned her knowledge in Veena to many of her students, who are well acclaimed at concert circles, in the present day.
