Hamsakutira Foundation is a centre for music education, psychology and research. It is in existence for 15 years, started by the Dr Geetha R Bhat. The aim of the foundation is to promote the importance of music to the present generation. The centre imparts Carnatic vocal and Veena to all students and the ones with special needs. It emphasises the importance of humanity and values through a holistic approach. The foundation has several initiatives, * Creating awareness in music psychology through seminars, lectures etc. * Promoting music as an alternative for several disorders and disabilities. * Conducting musical intervention programs for kids with special needs. (ADHD, Autism, Asperger's Syndrome, Down's Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, Multiple Sclerosis etc.) * Train and provide opportunities for special needs and rural background kids.
