About
H M Smitha is one of the prominent Violinist, in Bangalore. Born into a family of musical lineage, music is an inborn character to Smitha. She is the great-granddaughter of Veteran Violinist Sri A.V.Venkatanarayana. She trained under the violinists Sri H.K.Narasimha Murthy, Vidushi H.N.Rajalakshmi and Vid H.N.Bhaskar.
Smitha is an "A" grade artists of All India Radio and has performed many concerts for AIR and Doordarshan. Smitha is an excellent Carnatic Vocalist as well, which compliments her recitals. Her sister Sindhu Suchetan is also a prominent Carnatic musician trained same as her. Smitha has performed many concerts with eminent musicians in leading sabhas. She has also performed many duet concerts with her sister in prestigious platforms.
Smitha along with her sister has won many national level music competitions. She is the recipient of "Chinnara Kalashree", "Kishore Prathibe", "Ananya Prathiba Purashkara" and many other awards.
