Dr. Priyashri trained at the world renowned dance institution Kalakshetra Foundation at Chennai. She received PGDFA in first class and has participated in the dance presentations and dance-dramas of Kalakshetra both in India and abroad. She was a recepient of the HRD Ministry scholarship for advanced learning at Kalakshetra. She also presents solo dance performances. Carnatic Vocal - Priyashri is currently honing her vocal skills under the able guidance Smt Mangalam Shankar. She provides vocal support for Smt Mangalam Shankar's concerts apart from being a solo carnatic vocalist herself. Research Scholar - Priyashri has been a doctrate the Department of Indian Music, University of Madras and has contribute articles to journals and magazines. Nattuvanar and Vocal accompaniment - Priyashri is also a Nattuvanar and provides vocal accompaniment for Bharatanatyam performances. Other Info - Priyashri was the course co-ordinator and served as the guest faculty for the M.A. Bharathanatyam course run by the Department of Indian Music, University of Madras. She also served as the faculty for the B.A. Indian Music correspondance classes conducted by the same Department. Priyashri was invited by the Kalai Kaveri College of Fine Arts, Trichy to record lessons for their B.A. and M.A. dance syllabus. Priyashri has travelled to a number of countries including Singapore, Thailand, Canada, South Africa to mention a few. Priyashri also participates in the Sanskrit dramas performed by Samskrita Ranga, founded by the erudite scholar late Dr Raghavan. Priyashri is interested in training serious minded students in the art fields of Carnatic Music, Bharatanatyam and Nattuvangam.
