Chitra Visweswaran is a Bharatanatyam dancer who runs a dance school, the Chidambaram Academy of Performing Arts, in Chennai. She was awarded the Padma Shri in 1992. She is a legend in the field of Indian dance and has the distinction of being a scholar, thinker & seeker. Her deep-rooted training in Bharatanatyam under Smt.T.A.Rajalakshmi & the doyen Vazhuvoor Sri.B.Ramaiyya Pillai, an eclectic background & inner thirst for knowledge launched her on a voyage of discovery that has taken her to the forefront of contemporary Indian dance.
