About
Chethan Gangatkar, son of K.R. Ranganath and Smt. Leelavathi nurtured an interest in classical dance from his childhood. He started learning Bharatanatyam under Guru Dr. Sanjay Shantaram and later under Guru Dr. Suparna Venkatesh and believes that the learning process must never stop. His serious interest for the art-from, having been showered with the right amount of nourishment, lead to his opting for this divine platform as his profession. He completed his graduation in choreography from the Natya Institute of Kathak and Choreography headed by Guru Dr. Maya Rao. During his graduation at the Natya Institute he was exposed to various dance forms such as Kathak, Yakshagana and martial art forms like Tang-Ta which brought a sprightly effervescence to his talent. He choreographed mythological, sanskrit, historical and contemporary ballets during his graduation and won the hearts of the kala rasikas. Chethan at a young age was successful in completing his Rangapravesha in Bharatanatyam on 29th April 2005 and gained appreciation by the press and audience alike. He has participated in prestigious dance festivals like Mysore Dasara, Hampiutsava, Kitturutsava, Tunga Mohotsava, Natarajotsava (Myosre), Natrajotsava (Karnataka Nrithya Kalaparishat), Purandra utsava (Hampi), Gadi nada utsava, Kadambotsava, Benglooru Habba, Janapada Jatra, Suvarana Karnataka Celebration, Indepedence day and Republic day celebrations, and Brahmotsavas of various temples in and around Karnataka, to mention a few. He established the dance school, Natya Ninada Nrityalaya
