About
C R Ramya is a prominent Carnatic musician and a classical dancer. She finished her bachelor's degree in Choreography under the tutelage of Smt.Maya Rao. She also holds masters in Carnatic music and Bharatnatyam from leading universities.
Ramya is a "B" grade artist for Vocal and Bharatnatyam in All India Radio. She has performed in many leading sabhas and music festivals in India. Her workshops and concerts in the Middle East and Asian countries were well received. Apart from composing dance recitals, she serves as vocal accompanist for dance programmes. She is a recipient of many prestigious awards for her contributions to dance and music. "Ganakogile", "Natya Saraswathi". "Woman of Excellence" are few notable awards received by her. She is currently pursuing a doctorate and studies on the fusion of dance and music. She also teaches dance at Suprada Kala Nikethana.
