About
B.K. Anantharaman is a legendary Flautist, from a family of famous musicians. His parents are B M Keshavamurthy and Rajamma Keshavamurthy, who were eminent vocalists. From the age of 6, Anantharaman learnt vocal under the guidance of his parents. He started learning flute from C M Madhuranath, who is the disciple of Flute Mali. He also learnt flute under B N Suresh, M R Doreswamy, Late Dr R K Srikanthan and Dr Ramani and learnt their nuances. Anantharaman has performed at prestigious sabhas and music festivals in India and abroad. His duo concerts alongside his son Amit Nadig is popular among music enthusiasts. He is the recognized artist of Akashwani and ICCR, and have done several programmes for them. He is the proud recipient of Kalabhushana (2012) and many other awards and titles. As a founding member of Vamshi Sangeetha Academy Trust, he teaches many students in music. Several workshops, camps, seminars are also conducted in the venue, to propagate music. His efforts in "Maneyangaladalli Sangeetha Satsanga" was a successful one.
