Anuradha Thakur is one of the most promising Kathak exponents with outstanding brilliance. She started her journey in learning the art of classical dance and music at the tender age of four under the tutelage of her mother Smt Jayashree Thakur, who hails from Karnataka. For the past 20 years, Anuradha has been learning and taking guidance from the eminent guru of Jaipur Gharana Pt Rajendra Kumar Gangani. With long years of intensive training, Anuradha has complete command in presenting the idioms of pure dance i.e. both Nritta (Technical) and Abhinaya (Expressional) aspects with equal ease and conviction. She has performed extensively in India and abroad. Anuradha has studied the Jaipur style of Kathak. Anuradha received a master’s degree in Kathak from Prayag Sangeet Samiti Allahabad and is also a diploma holder from Kathak Kendra, New Delhi. She is also the recipient of the prestigious scholarship from the Ministry of HRD, Government of India as well as CCRT. Also to her degrees in dance, Anuradha also received a junior diploma in Hindustani Classical Music from Prayag Sangeet Samiti and a bachelor’s degree in Commerce from Jesus and Mary College, Delhi University. Anuradha is an exceptionally creative dancer and choreographer.
