About
He started learning violin from Shri. Borivili Kannan in Mumbai and continued under Smt. Gomati Sitaram at The Fine Arts Music School, Chembur, Mumbai where he successfully completed the 7 year music course in 1993. He then received advanced training in carnatic music with particular focus on violin accompaniment for vocal music from guru Smt. T.R.Balamani of Mumbai. In 2001, he came under the tutelage of Kum. A. Kanyakumari and has been intensively groomed in her baani.
Recipient of the rolling trophy in the 31st All-India competition for Carnatic and Hindustani instrumental music conducted by Swar Sadhana Samithi, Mumbai in 1996.
Awarded a Scholarship from the Government of India's Cultural Ministry in 2001 for advanced training in Violin.
Won the best violinist and was part of the team that won the best concert award in 'Isai Velvi' Concert competition conducted by Ghatam Suresh's International Society for Laya Awareness (ISLA) in 2008
Received the 'Best Violinist' award in the junior slot from Sri Parthasarathy Swamy Sabha during the December 2009 music season.
Received the Lalgudi Gopala Iyer 'Best Violinist' award from Shri Krishna Gana Sabha in 2011
