About
Amith Nadig is a prominent Flautist, in Indian Carnatic music. He is born into a family of musicians and was a child prodigy. Though an engineer by profession in the IT industry, his passion for music never takes a break. He started training in music from the age of 7 with guidance from his father Vidwan B.K.Anantharam. To learn the "Gayaki" style of flute, he was under the tutelage of Dr.R.K.Srikantan for over 2 decades. Currently, he is learning the instrument under the guidance of Dr R.N.Thyagarajan. Amith is one of the youngest "A" grade artist in All India Radio. He has performed at many prestigious programmes of AIR and Doordarshan. His performances at prestigious sabhas of India and abroad earned him good reviews. He has performed alongside with eminent musicians of different genres. So, many of his recitals have the influence of Hindustani, Jazz and Fusion genres. He is the only Indian to have performed at Dusseldorf Church Organ and JazzArt festivals. Amith Nadig is a part of music bands "Mystik Vibes", "Siri" and "Amithias", along with other musicians. He also teaches advanced flute lessons, for the interested students.
