Vid. Kanchana A Ishwara Bhat is an erudite musician and a scholar of Carnatic classical music. He has been popular as a great mridangist and is well known in the Southern part of Karnataka. Sri Ishwara Bhat mastered the subtle notes of classical music at the music academy. His dedication and devotion to music soon saw him at the level of a Vidwan in of Carnatic classical music. He is been awarded the title “Vishesha Kala Chetana”. He is been awarded “Kaladeepti” by Tyagaraja Sangeeta sabha Mysore. On the much formal side, he has had a College education and has obtained a BCom. degree from the University of Mangalore in the year 1991. He has founded a music school called Sunada Sangeetha Kala Shala. This school imparts the knowledge of music to the deserving students. This school has its branches at Puttur, Sullia, Subrahmanya, Kunthur, and Kemmara. All put together, more than 500 students learn music. He is also engaged in imparting distant education in music to students residing at USA and Dubai. He also has students who give a live performance on the stages both in the category of mridangam and vocal. Each branch of the Sunada Sangeetha Kala Shala celebrates its own annual day every year. This is to give an opportunity for its students to exhibit their talents. In this way, the school altogether conducts more than 70 music programs every year which. He advocates his students of the importance of reverence to elders and Guru Bhakti.
