V Karthikeyan is a senior disciple of flute maestro Dr. N Ramani. He got training under him for more than 30 years. He has performed in most of the leading sabhas all over India. He has been one of the earliest Presidents of Youth Association for Classical Music. He has performed under new formats like Vocal ñ Flute jugalbandhis. He also performed Veena-Venu-Violin and Five Flutes. His wife Savitha Karthikeyan is a Carnatic Vocalist.
