Sri Rama Lalitha Kala Mandira was founded in the year 1955 by Late Sri G. Vedanta Iyengar, an educationist of high repute and a recipient of Public Service Medal from the then Maharajah of Mysore, His Holiness Sri Jayachamarajendra Wodeyar. After Sri Vedanta Iyengar's demise in 1962, his musician daughters Smt. G.V.Ranganayakamma and Smt. G.V. Neela pursued the ideal of their father towards propagating the fine arts of Carnatic Music. Sri Rama Lalitha Kala Mandira was founded in the year 1955 by Late Sri G. The Institute has now completed a challenging half-century of its useful role in the world of music. Sri Rama Lalitha Kala Mandira is one of the premier Institutions of Music and in service of Carnatic Music for over five decades. A niche has been carved in imparting education in various facets of this divine art. The great efforts and dedication of the founders have laid a strong foundation to promote Carnatic Music. Sri Rama Lalitha Kala Mandira encouraged many musicians and budding artists since inception. Their continued association with musicians of great repute has put them on a firm footing.
