Smt. Smitha K Prasad is a Carnatic Vocalist. Smt. Tara was her very first guru. Her current guru is Smt. T S Vasanthamadhavi. She does Carnatic concerts. She presents lecture demonstrations on various aspects of Carnatic music. She had done a presentation on Indian classical music for the US Department of Justice. She had also collaborated and performed jugalbandhi concerts with Hindustani classical musicians. She is a faculty of Leela School of Dance. She had served as an adviser to the board of the India Foundation. She writes a monthly article on Carnatic music for a leading South Asian publication. It is in the US. She also does freelance writing. It is about subjects related to classical arts for other websites and publications.
