Sampagodu S. Vighnaraja is best in the field of Carnatic classical music of the younger generation. His consistent and brilliant performances mark him as one of the greatest upcoming Carnatic classical musicians. While on stage the charismatic Vighnaraja mesmerizes the audiences with his outstanding abilities taking the audience to another realm with his perfect control over laya and melody. He is always ready to serve his improvisational commands modulating to any degree unmindful of the speed. Its timeless and speechless sensation with his pleasing moves and flexible, impressive voice. On flute, Vighnaraja is pristine, pure, and delicate. He Renders the flute in a rich, soulful and sophisticated form. He has given hundreds of performances in India and abroad. Vighnaraja received the BOH Cameronian Arts Award in 2009 at Kuala Lumpur for Best Vocal Solo Performance. He was awarded the famous “Aryabhata INTERNATIONAL AWARD” in 2012. “Ananya YUVA PURASKARA” by Ananya, Bangalore in May 2015. The Indian Cultural Centre has recognized his efforts. Vighnaraja is a self-taught flautist and a self-taught slide guitarist. The All India Radio graded artist Vighnaraja has won several awards.
