Rohit Anand belongs to the pres­tigious Maihar Senia gharana and is a dis­ciple of Pt. Ravi Shankar, Late Smt. Sharan Rani Backliwal, and Ustad Aashish Khan. He teaches clas­sical and semi-classical music in Delhi. Apart from per­forming on stage, he is also a music therapist. Rohit Anand is an ace flautist, master craftsman and a professional music therapist based in Delhi. He is one of the few artists who ventured into the art of flute by playing as well as making. He studied music under the famous guru shishya tradition under Maihar Senia Gharana. He learnt nuances of hindusthani music under the tutelage of Pt Ravishankar, Late Smt. Sharan Rani Backliwal and Ustad Ashish Khan. Rohit Anand is an ace flautist, master craftsman and a professional music therapist based in Delhi. He is one of the few artists to have ventured into the art of flute playing as well as flute making. Studying music under the prestigious guru-shishya tradition of the Maihar Senia Gharana, Rohit ji learnt the nuances of Hindustani Classical music under the tutelage of maestros like Pt. Ravi Shankar, Late Smt. Sharan Rani Backliwal, and Ustad Aashish Khan. A self-taught flautist, he chose to learn from exponents of classical music, albeit stringed instrument players. His long and soulful sangeet sadhana reached a pinnacle when he was able to make the world's smallest bansuri that can play up to two octaves. A philanthropist to the core, he has also studied the effect of music on the human body and is a successful practitioner of Music Therapy.
