Ravichandra Kulur is a popular flautist, from Bangalore. At the young age of 6, he trained for percussion under E P Narayana Pishardi. Being born to Flutist father, playing the flute was a natural talent grown within him. He soon started playing the flute under the guidance of his father K Raghavendra Rao. Along with him, Ravichandra has performed several duet concerts, at the age of 9. His interest in music knew no bounds and started exploring fusion music and jazz. He is one of the most sought after flautist in India, ever since he took music as his full-time profession. He has a unique way of playing the flute and plays complicated rhythms with such an ease. Ravichandra's recitals have been well received at several prestigious music festivals and sabhas. He has conducted concerts on Jazz at several European countries and the United States. He performed alongside Pandit Ravi Shankar at "Festival of India" during 2005-2006. He has shared stage with several legendary Hindustani and Carnatic musicians. Ravi is an "A" graded flautist in AIR and Doordarshan. His recitals are famous in National Radio channels of America and European countries. Ravi has also performed for the members of Royal Family in the UK. He is the recipient of "Kala Arathi Rathna" and many other prestigious awards. Ravi is a part of Layatharanga, a percussion troupe performing at several concerts. He is also a part of Swindia and Mesmerize that does recitals on fusions with world musicians. He has composed several albums and dance productions for Indian and German films.
