They are R.Vijayalakshmi & R.Chithra, Carnatic vocalists singing as a duo in the name of "MAMBALAM SISTERS". They are disciples of Sri B.V.Raman & B.V.Lakshmanan and are being trained by Smt.Suguna Varadachari. They are "A" grade artistes of All India Radio. They have performed all over India and abroad. They are recipients of many awards, notable 1) Nadabhushanam from Sri Shanmukhananda Sabha, New Delhi, 2) Vani Kala Nipuna from Sri Thyaga Brahma Sabha, Chennai 3) The Kartik award of excellence from Kartik Fine Arts, Chennai. They are known for our rich repertoire and thematic presentations which include concerts only comprising of specific composers like Thyagaraja, Muthuswamy Dikshidar, Shyama Sastrigal, Swathi Tirunal, Purandara Dasa, Narayana Theerthar, Gopalakrishna Bharathi, Harikesanallur Muthiah Bahgavatar and also comprising only Divya Prabandam, Tirupugazh, etc.
