He is an exponent of Banaras gharana. He is teaching in guru shishya parampara. He has a master degree in Tabla from Allahabad. He is a disciple of pandit Bhuwan Prakash Srivastav & Lalji Srivastav, Allahabad. He is an A graded artiste of All India Radio and television. He has performed all over India & abroad. He is the president of Swaranjali which is an organisation for the promotion of Indian Classical music. He is also working as a visiting professor in many institutions more. Pradip Kumar Sarkar is an empanelled artist of ICCR for teaching and performance in abroad.
