Phanindra Bhaskara is a Mridangam and Ghatam artist and a disciple of Senior Mridangam Vidwan Sri H S Sudhindhra. He has won the Ananya Yuva Prathibha award twice and the CMANA award from the Percussive Arts Center. Apart from his guru Vidvaan HS Sudhindra, Phaneendra has accompanied great musicians like Vidyabhushan, RK Srikantan, Trichi Shankaran, Pattabhirama Pandit and many others in their concerts. He has performed at the Sangeeth Natak Academy, Madras Music Academy and has been awarded for best accompaniment in both Mridanga and Ghatam at the Bengaluru Gayana Samaja. Phaneendra grew up in Mysore and is an alumni of the Dayanand Sagar College where he pursued computer science engineering. He bagged the central government scholarship to support his pursuit of music. He is part of performing groups that experiments a lot and engage themselves in social initiatives.
