Guru Lalitha Srinivasan established the Nupura School of Bharathanatyam in 1978. Nupura is an organization which aims to popularize the Mysore School of Bharathanatyam. Not only do Nupurites learn to dance, but also learn theory. They also teach, sing, does nattuvangam, under the care and personal attention of the Guru. Nupura has come to be a flag bearer of the Mysore style of rendition. Nupura’s troupe has performed at the Hampe and Pattadkal festivals. Nupura’s troupe has traveled the world touring UK, USA, & Canada.
