She is a noted violinist from Karnataka, a disciple of Mr R.R Keshavamurthy and the late Anoor Ramakrishna. She too comes from a family of musicians- father a sama veda scholar and mother a violinist. She was awarded a government of india cultural scholarship for advanced training in violin. She has been awarded "Season's best violinist" by tge Gayana Samaja, Bangalore, and the very prestigious Parur Sundaram Iyer Endowment award by Sri Krishna Gana Sabha. She is an accomplished vocalist as well with many awards in that field including pallavi singing. She has accompanied several of the reputed present day artists. She also has several cassettes to her credit.
