Kala Shri N G Ravi (Nada Gambhira Ravi) is one of the senior most Mridangam Vidwans of Karnataka. He is a disciple of Ganakala Bhushana T.A.S. Mani of Bangalore and Padma Bhushan Umayalpuram K. Sivaraman of Chennai. He has been playing Mridangam for over 5 decades and has accompanied many eminent musicians and dancers. For over 3 decades, he is touring all over United States and United Kingdom to provide performances. His wife Meenakshi Ravi, is a well known musician and music-therapist. His son Madhu Kashyap and daughter-in-law Kriti are accomplished young musicians and performs concerts. Upcoming artists like Vidhuni Ranjani Venkatesh, one of top women percussionists in Bengaluru and Shri Vallish Herur are under his tutelage.He specialises in teaching instruments for specially abled children as - Rhythm Therapy.
