About

Manjari studied Bharatanatyam from the days of her early childhood under the tutelage of her illustrious dancer-musician parents CV Chandrasekhar and Jaya Chandrasekhar, from whom she imbibed the grandeur, beauty, and nuances of the art form. Dance and music have been an intrinsic part of Manjari’s life from the time she was born; this exposure is reflected in her precise technique and her emotional range and depth as a performer. Manjari is a sensitive and innovative dance choreographer and teacher who has taught and performed widely within India and abroad. An empanelled artiste with the Indian Council of Cultural Relations (ICCR, Delhi), she has choreographed thematic works – Ushas, Ahalya, Rathi: A Journey, sufi poetry, and Earthen Pot – with adherence to classical standards and to wide-ranging critical acclaim.
