T B Narasimhachar was an enthusiastic member of the Bangalore Gayana Samaja (est 1905) and had acquainted himself with many musicians while attending programmes there. In 1948, several music lovers got together with the aim of establishing a new organization for promoting Carnatic music in North Bangalore (the fast developing areas of Malleswaram, Rajamahal Guttahalli, Seshadripuram, Srirampuram, Rajajinagar etc. ). Thus was born Malleswaram Sangeetha Sabha, the second oldest registered in Bangalore (referred to as “Sabha” hereon). TBN became a very active member of its working committee and soon became the Honorary Secretary of this cultural hub. It rapidly began to attract most of the prominent personalities and music lovers of the surrounding residential areas, many of whom enrolled as its members. Over the next couple of decades, TBN worked enthusiastically along with a spirited team of other music lovers, in various honorary capacities to help grow the Sabha into a prominent cultural hub in the city of Bangalore
