ubhashini is the founder and artistic director of FWA and FWN. She began learning dance at the age of nine at Prasannalya (Chennai, India). She performed her first full length solo recital of two and a half hours at the age of twelve on Jan 16, 1988 at Adyar Cultural Academy in Gandhinagar, Chennai. Subhashini trained briefly in Kathak with Smt Priti Ghosh in Chennai in 2000.She moved to the United States in 2000, and of course immediately felt incomplete without dance. In 2003 she received the Washington State Apprenticeship to expand her dance repertoire under Dr. Smt Jayanthi Raman.Subhashini is a current Kathak student of Shri Murali Mohan Kalvakalva.
