Kumaresh is an exemplary Violinist, performing on stage since childhood. He trained under his father and guru T.S.Rajagopalan and his mentor brother, Ganesh. Being a child prodigy, he started his concerts from the age of 5 and completed close to 100 concerts before he is 10. He is one of the youngest artist honoured as "The state artist" by Govt. of TamilNadu and to be a top "A" grade artist in AIR. Kumaresh has a successful partnership with his brother Ganesh, for 43 years. Both have performed several duo concerts all over the world, with large fan followers. They introduced the concept of "Raga Pravaham", that explores melody renditions for Violin. He was also a part of the world music band "Brahmma", during the 80's. Kumaresh has worked with many world bands and Hindustani musicians. His albums with his brother, "Colors of India", "Carnatic Chills", "Manoranjani", "Spark", "Bowing with Passion" is well received by his fans. With his wife Veena Maestro Jayanthi, he produced the concert "Strings Attached", receiving good reviews. Kumaresh is a philosopher and referred to as "Fiddling Monk" in Carnatic music circles.
