The Karnataka College of Percussion found its origin at 1964 by TAS Mani. The college imparts the teaching of percussion instruments for students all over world. Mr. Mani has trained Mridangam to his students through innovative techniques. This unique feature of this institute makes the students excel in their learning. Many of the students from this institute has performed around the world. Mr.Mani encourages foreign students, especially, to make them learn the Indian instruments. Mrs. Louise Kidder of USA, Tunji Beier, Ron Reeves and Gary France of Australia, Christian, Ralph from Germany are few of his notable foreign students who had trained from KCP. Government institutions like Indian Council for Cultural Relations have acknowledged this college. They encourage the students to perform in the cultural activities organised by them, all over the world.
