H K Venkatram is an Indian classical music violinist and Philanthropist. Venkatram has been an active violinist for over 30 years in India and abroad. H K Venkatram started learning violin from his father, Prof H V Krishnamurthy at the age of 7. He gave his first concert at the age of 11 with his brother. Venkatram along with T M Krishna and R K Shriramkumar is the co-founder of a project called "Shabda". Its aim is to create an online archive of the various aspects of the Indian Performing Arts. Prathyarpana Foundation is a charitable initiative by Vijaya College of Music. It is a music college run by Venkatram and his wife, Triveni Venkatram. The foundation aims to use the Performing Arts for social causes. Ashwin learned to play the veena at the age of eight. He learned it from Prof. H V Krishnamurthy (father of violinist H K Venkataram), a violinist. Ashwin’s training under Prof. H V K lasted seventeen years. He received the CCRT, Govt. of India Scholarship from 1991 to 2000. He received a further scholarship for advanced training from 2002 to 2004. He gave his first public concert at the age of thirteen and concerts soon followed his debut. From 2006, Ashwin teamed up with H K Venkataram (violin) and G Ravikiran (flute). The team has performed more than thirty concerts, as an instrumental ensemble. It appeals more to the public. It also enables the participation of senior pakkavadyam artists. Ravikiran Govindaraj is a notable and accomplished Flutist. He had performed at Chennai and Bangalore.
