Gaana Rasika Mandali, an organization meant for the promotion of Karnataka Classical Music, was founded by late Sri. S.Rajagopala Iyer on 18 June 1970. Gaana Rasika Mandali proposes to conduct talent promotion concerts to encourage young and upcoming artists. The aim is to encourage talent and promote classical music through concerts /workshops to spread the work of Sangeetha Akshara hridaya concepts written by Sri. S. Rajagopala Iyer and "Laya Vinyasam", written by Sri. R. Krishnamurthy.
