Divya started learning Bharatanatyam at the age of 5. Her love for dance changed to deep-rooted passion and serious pursuit in a gradual manner. She is learning Bharatanatyam for the past 20 years from Guru Dr. Soundarya Srivathsa. Divya got training in her early years from Sri Kiran Subramanyam and Smt Sandhya Kiran. She learned Kathak from renowned dance couple, Sri T.D. Rajendra and Smt Nirupama Rajendra. During the training, Divya was the principal dancer of Abhinava Dance Company. She was A graded artiste of Doordarshan. She was also a recipient of the "Gutty Vasu Memorial Prize" from Music Academy Madras.
