About

Shri Chaluvaraju is a leading Mridangam performer. From the age of 7, he started training in the instrument under the guidance of Vidwan Shri Shrinivas. He was also a disciple of Late C.Subbu, under whom he underwent a rigorous training. Despite being a government officer, he continued his passion for music.
Chaluvaraju started his stage performance from the age of 11. Since then, he has given many performances at all leading sabhas in India and abroad. He is an "A" top grade of All India Radio (AIR) and Doordarshan, and have given many recitals in their channels. He has performed alongside many eminent Carnatic and Hindustani musicians.
Chaluvaraju is a recurring Carnatic musician in European countries, for their annual festivals. He received the title of "India's Scotchman" for the spellbound performance, in Konnakol. His mridangam recital during "Master Festival of Arts and Culture" in Korea, earned him fame. He got the honour of "World Master in Arts and Culture", from the Korean Association. Apart from these honours, he received several prestigious awards from the Government of India.
Chaluvaraju is the trustee and founder of "Ganagruha Academy of Music and Dance". He motivates young talents in music and gives a platform to perform. He also gives gurukul style education in music to students from his home. He does take online classes for the students from European countries. He is also a visiting professor teaching music in "Bangalore University".
